An established industry player is on the lookout for a junior-to-mid level Information Systems Security Engineer to join their team in Middletown, RI. This role is pivotal in monitoring vulnerabilities, identifying risks, and securing critical systems for the Navy. THOR Solutions is actively seeking a junior-to-mid level Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to monitor vulnerabilities, identify risks, and secure systems used by Code 34 of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), located in Middletown, RI. An ideal candidate will possess prior experience with supporting cybersecurity risk and vulnerability assessment functions, hardening systems based upon risk assessments, and the Risk Management Framework (RMF) in a Navy or DoD environment.
Typical responsibilities include:
Location: Full time onsite at Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI.
Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. May also require physical activity including lifting/moving computer & server hardware assets, setting up workstations, laying network cable, and supporting other IT infrastructure activities.
Existing Secret Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate will already possess an Active or Interim Secret security clearance. A strongly qualified candidate with relevant NMCI/DoD experience but no current security clearance may be considered.
