Job description

Our work depends on an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) joining our CNIC Applications Support team, which provides system administration, development/maintenance support, and ISSE support of Commander, Navy Installation Command (CNIC) applications in Norfolk, VA.

How Our Information Systems Security Engineer Will Make an Impact:
  1. Guide program managers through the RMF process, expediting control implementation and policy creation to achieve/maintain 3-year ATO.
  2. Author Standard Operating Procedures, policies, and IA plans of action to ensure systems compliance with Federal/DoD guidance.
  3. Maintain system eMASS records, upload artifacts, update security controls, and initiate workflow for steps in the RMF process.
  4. Develop system concepts and apply systems engineering life cycle to translate strategic cyber objectives, technology, and environmental conditions into engineering outcomes and solutions.
  5. Advise system owners and stakeholders on new developments and advanced cybersecurity techniques.
  6. Review and analyze system implementation plans.
  7. Identify corrective actions and mitigation strategies to achieve and sustain RMF compliance.
  8. Develop and maintain Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&M) addressing confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  9. Perform selection, implementation, validation, and establishment of baseline of DISA Control Correlation Identifiers (CCI).
  10. Review McAfee and VRAM reports.
  11. Review ACAS findings.
  12. Provide ISSO support.
  13. Attend and participate in weekly and bi-monthly meetings.
  14. Coordinate with SDP Hosting Center via IssueTrak tickets.
What You’ll Need:
  • Active Secret clearance with completed T5 Investigation.
  • 8 years of relevant IT experience.
  • Experience with cybersecurity, systems administration, and RMF tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of SCAP, STIG, Patching, eMASS, and related RMF tools.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II compliant – Security+ CE certification.
  • BS Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related IT field.
  • Location: Hybrid - 1 day onsite in Norfolk, VA, and remote work.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary range is $110,614 - $138,000, based on experience, location, and contractual factors.
