Job description
Overview

California State University Fresno, Craig School of Business, Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, maintain an active program of scholarly and applied research, and engage in service to the department, college, university, and community. Primary teaching responsibilities and research interests are expected to focus on Decision Sciences and Information Systems, with teaching assignments based on departmental needs and the candidate's expertise. Candidates with especially strong research and teaching experience may be considered for the Brix Endowed Chair.

The ISDS Department currently hosts two options: Computer Information Systems (CIS) and Data Analytics (DA). ISDS offers courses in statistics, analytics, machine learning, database management systems, analysis, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Systems and Decision Sciences, with assignments based on departmental needs and the candidate’s expertise.
  • Maintain an active program of scholarly and applied research and engage in service to the department, college, university, and community.
  • Contribute to the development of programs in Decision Sciences and Information Systems; opportunities may exist to be considered for the Brix Endowed Chair based on qualifications.
Qualifications
  • Required Education: An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or DBA) in Business (areas including Analytics, Decision Sciences, Information Systems) or closely related fields from an AACSB-accredited institution is required. Applicants with earned doctorates in closely related fields from similarly situated institutions may be considered. ABD applicants may be considered if the doctorate is completed by August 1, 2026.
  • Required Experience: Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds; experience or strong potential for excellence in teaching; and a record of or strong potential for conducting high-quality research.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Teaching expertise in business analytics, machine learning, database management, and cybersecurity; business, managerial, or professional experience in related areas; substantial teaching experience with evidence of teaching excellence; established record of research and scholarly publications.

Compensation and Benefits
