Job summary

V2X, Inc. is seeking an Information System Security Officer to lead the DoD security program at China Lake. You will implement security policies, perform vulnerability assessments with ACAS/STIGs/SCAP, and support ATO processes for critical satellite communications infrastructure.

A Top Secret clearance and a bachelor’s degree are required. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure continuous monitoring, risk analysis, and compliant security controls across DoD information systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and enforcement of information system security policies and standards.
• Perform vulnerability assessments using ACAS, STIGs, and SCAP.
• Configure OS and network device security per DISA STIGs.
• Conduct continuous monitoring, risk analyses, and create mitigation strategies.
• Identify NIAP/CACLP technologies and DISA APL.
• Prepare certification letters and MoAs for interfaces and networking.
• Support cross-functional cyber security efforts aligned with program goals.
• Assist with ATO documentation including SSPs, SOPs, and POA&M.
• Assess risks to satellite communication infrastructures.

We are seeking a Information System Security Officer to join our team at China Lake. In this role, you will lead the implementation and enforcement of information system security policies while conducting critical vulnerability assessments using DoD tools like ACAS, DISA STIGs, and SCAP. You will also manage continuous monitoring, collaborate on Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation, and perform risk analyses to protect vital satellite communication infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information system security policies, standards and methodologies.
• Conducting vulnerability assessments using automated benchmarks and tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker.
• Implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Performing security control continuous monitoring, reviewing system security plans and associated artifacts, security audits, risk analysis and developing mitigation strategies for DoD information systems.
• Identifying Common Criteria and National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) certified technologies and the DISA Approved Products List (APL).
• Preparing certification letters and Memoranda of Agreement (MoA) with system owners for interface and networking implementations.
• Providing guidance on cross-functional cybersecurity efforts, ensuring alignment with organizational and program goals and milestones.
• Collaborating on documentation for Information System Authority to Operate (ATO) decisions, including SSPs, SOPs, POA&M, and Knowledge Articles.
• Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate potential threats to satellite communication infrastructures.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications:

• CompTIA Security + is required
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related area of study is required. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, candidates must have 5 years of information system security officer / cybersecurity engineering experience in addition to a DoD approved baseline certification (i.e. CompTIA SecurityX, Cloud+, CCSP, etc.) as defined by DoDD 8140-M.
• This position requires an active Top Secret Clearance.

Preferred Experience:

• 5 years of experience with Information Assurance/Cybersecurity (IA/CS).
• 5 years of experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) DODI 8510.01.
• Experience with security controls and implementation delineated in Committee of National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253 and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53, and the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG).
• Able to perform vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated benchmarks.
• Ability to implement operating systems and network device security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
• Experience with performing security control continuous monitoring, security audits, risk analysis and developing mitigation strategies for DoD information systems.
