Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Defensive Cyber Operations Branch rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

Has an in-depth understanding of the cybersecurity policies and procedures for government sector information systems and sufficient technical knowledge and experience to implement them. Provides hands on security and compliance guidance and work with Scrum Masters and product owners in concert with system requirements that are being developed and implmeneting cloud computing. This position may require priviledge access and DODM 8570.01M restrictions will apply.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty and minumum of 4 years’ related professional experience; Or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty and minumum 2 years' related professional experience
  • Must have IAT Level II

Experience/Desired Skills

  • Experiene with Python programming language
  • Expereine with C++ would be a desired
  • Familiarity with Zeek, Wireshark, or other network protocol analysis software.
  • Familiarity with ATT&CK, SPARTA
  • Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
  • Experience with Defensive Cyber Operations (SSC/SZWO) program office.
  • Space system command and controal and experience with operations.
  • Space system ground software design and programming.
  • Space vehicle flight software design and programming.

Clearance:

  • Must possess a Top Secret with SCI eligibility. SAR/SAP experience highly desirable

Location/Travel Requirements:

  • Place of work is onsite in Colorado Springs. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $120,000/year to $170,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act.
