Week A: Sun 12:15-5:15; Mon OFF; Tues 8:30-5:45; Wed 11:15-8:15;Thurs 8:30-5:45; Fri 9:15-6:15; Sat OFF
Week B & C: Sun OFF; Mon 8:30-5:30; Tues 8:30-5:30; Wed 11:15-8:15;Thurs 8:30-5:30; Fri 8:30-5:30 Sat OFF

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA library school.
Must complete pre-employment testing.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Provides superior customer servicewith information requests, reader’s advisory questions, computers, andprinting and copying.
- Collaborates with communitypartners, patrons, and other staff to plan, organize, promote, and presentrelevant, innovative assistance and programs for patrons.
- Serves as a U.S. Passport agent byscheduling and executing appointments, maintaining the standards outlinedin the Passport Application Resource Guide (PARG), and keeping up withother duties directed by the Facility Manager and Passport ProgramLead.
- Selects, catalogs, and maintainsour Government Documents collection as SCPL’s representative to theFederal Depository Library Program and acts as the expert in thatcollection. This will require collaboration with colleagues in the ThomasCooper library in USC Columbia and elsewhere in South Carolina.
- Maintains our Law Librarycollection and acts as the expert in that collection.
- Handles financial transactions andassists in preparing bank deposits.
- Participates in maintaining anattractive department including maintaining and promoting collections,displays and signage.
- Serves as Librarian-in-Charge whenassigned.
- Remains aware of safety andsecurity issues and takes appropriate action as needed; roves the libraryto maintain awareness of patron needs and security.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:- Master’s degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA LibrarySchool.
- Community focused, patron oriented, desire to provide excellentcustomer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with technology and ability to guide those with variouslevels of understanding
- Ability to establish deadlines, monitor progress, and work wellwith a team
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive to otherlibraries or community outreach
