What Youll Do

Serves as a representative in the development and execution of all Information Security related activities; Counters manages and mitigates threats to classified information and controlled unclassified information; conducts required reviews and assessments of facilities processes and activities; determines initial annual and specialized plant training needs; develops appropriate training briefings programs and campaigns; delivers training and briefings on a regular basis; provides guidance for safeguarding storage destruction transmission and transportation of classified information; performs reviews of information to be posted on public web sites; determines trends initiates and submits reports studies proposals and recommendations for Information Security program improvement to management and DOE representatives; maintains process documents work instructions and plant standards.

  • Bachelors degree : Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years.
  • OR Masters degree : Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent may be considered on an exceptional basis with 10 or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a business discipline and 4 years experience with an emphasis in Information Security is preferred.
  • Performs advanced assignments in technical processes.
  • Represents organizational unit on information security matters.
  • Recommends interprets and / or implements company and internal policies and procedures.
  • May implement new and improved technology to provide for efficient production of assigned programs.
  • May maintain process control records develop raw material requirements and provide guidance in specific area of assignment.
  • Initiates and submits reports studies proposals security improvement projects and makes recommendations for consideration by management and / or DOE representatives.
  • May direct or prepare layouts of mechanisms to ensure that security considerations are given primary attention.
  • Accountable for all direct output assigned and for providing direct output support to his / her manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal State DOE Corporate and Plant rules regulations and Plantwide operating policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required to attend and / or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies department through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2) and Management.
  • Conduct selfassessments / surveillance of selected plant operations and plant procedures prepares and issues reports recommendations for corrective action and conducts followup for correction of noncompliant conditions.
  • Participates in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls.
  • Understands a workers right to stop work when they feel their own or others personal safety is jeopardized.
  • Attends all required safety meetings and training. Offers suggestions on improvements to the work environment.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligencescope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
