Job summary

American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company is hosting the Launchpad Internship Program in Des Moines, IA. This 10–12 week, in-person experience gives interns hands‑on exposure to information security operations and real business impact.

Interns receive mentorship, participate in an intern hack‑a‑thon, and develop professional skills through sessions and networking. Housing stipends and recognition opportunities are offered to supported interns.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Managing Information Systems, or other computing field of study.
• General understanding of security technologies for websites/applications, networks, servers, desktops and databases.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Learn quickly when faced with new challenges and situations; analyze success and failures.

Responsibilities

• Assists with information security analyst processes around detection, investigation, and reporting of events.
• Engages with information security engineers in designing and implementing projects of varying scopes.
• May rotate with governance, forensics, architecture, and access control within information security.
• Collaborates with team to build information security awareness across the company.
