The Information Security Engineer is responsible for evaluating, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and managing secure solutions to protect against cyber threats. This role ensures the security of systems, applications, third-party connections, and service providers in alignment with architectural designs, best practices, and compliance requirements.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of potential security solutions to determine their effectiveness and compatibility with existing systems.
- Analyze the latest security technologies and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop detailed project plans outlining the steps, resources, and timelines required for the successful implementation of security solutions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution of project plans.
- Execute the implementation of security solutions, ensuring they are integrated seamlessly into the organization's infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the implementation process
- Develop and maintain continuous improvement plans to enhance the functionality and effectiveness of implemented security solutions.
- Monitor the performance of security solutions and make recommendations for new features and enhancements to improve the organization's security posture
- Evaluate system changes for security implications and recommend enhancements.
- Collaborate with architects, SOC, incident responders, and IT teams.
- Drive security efficiency and support performance testing of security tools.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Continuous improvement in security posture and system resilience.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including system and network security engineering.
- Additional 5+ years of IT experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in SIEM, IDS/IPS, PKI, IDAM, antivirus, firewalls, and EDR.
- Experience with securing AWS or Azure cloud environments.
- Experience planning and deploying various enterprise security solutions
- Experience utilizing security tools to identify opportunities for improvement
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, PHP, or Ruby.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Unix systems.
Preferred Certifications
- CISSP
- CISM and/or SANS certifications
- Other advanced industry certifications
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
- Remote or hybrid work environment.
- Availability for incident response outside regular hours as needed.
