Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with a global leader in the industrial and manufacturing space, seeks an Information Security Engineer to join a lean, collaborative security team in Charlotte, NC. This hybrid role covers security engineering, advisory work, and project-based initiatives across a global environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across security operations, endpoint security, vulnerability remediation, infrastructure security, DLP, AI security, and ISO 27001 compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity or information security engineering experience.
• Broad security background across multiple domains.
• Hands-on experience configuring, tuning, or optimizing security tools.
• Experience with EDR and SIEM technologies; CrowdStrike Falcon and/or Next-Gen SIEM preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Defender or other Microsoft security technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting across endpoint, infrastructure, networking, identity, and security technologies.
• Ability to evaluate new technologies, participate in POCs, and contribute to security projects.

Responsibilities

• Configure, tune, and optimize enterprise security technologies, including EDR, SIEM, endpoint, and Microsoft security platforms.
• Support security investigations, incident response, and threat analysis as needed.
• Participate in the planning, evaluation, testing, and implementation of new security technologies and initiatives.
• Partner with internal infrastructure, systems, networking, and external technology partners on security-related projects.
• Review vulnerability findings and help determine appropriate remediation strategies.
• Assist with security awareness initiatives, phishing simulations, and user education.
• Provide escalation support and security guidance to Service Desk and other IT teams.
• Support ongoing ISO 27001 compliance activities, audits, documentation, and control improvements.

Information Security Engineer - Hybrid in Charlotte, NC*

Optomi, in partnership with a global leader in the industrial and manufacturing space, is looking to find an Information Security Engineer to add to their growing team! As the Information Security Engineer, you will play a key role on a lean, highly collaborative security team, supporting a broad range of security engineering, advisory, and project-based initiatives across a global environment.

This is not a traditional SOC-only position. The ideal candidate will bring broad, hands-on security engineering experience and be comfortable working across security operations, endpoint security, vulnerability remediation, infrastructure security, DLP, AI security, compliance, and security technology initiatives. You will be expected to contribute to the evaluation, configuration, tuning, testing, and ongoing improvement of security technologies while serving as a trusted security resource to infrastructure, systems, and other IT teams.

Responsibilities:

• Configure, tune, and optimize enterprise security technologies, including EDR, SIEM, endpoint, and Microsoft security platforms

• Assist with security awareness initiatives, phishing simulations, and user education
• Provide escalation support and security guidance to Service Desk and other IT teams

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity or information security engineering experience
• Broad security background with experience working across multiple security domains
• Hands-on experience configuring, tuning, or optimizing security tools
• Experience with EDR and SIEM technologies; CrowdStrike Falcon and/or Next-Gen SIEM experience is highly preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Defender or other Microsoft security technologies
• Strong troubleshooting skills across endpoint, infrastructure, networking, identity, and security technologies
• Experience supporting vulnerability remediation and working with technical teams to resolve security findings
• Ability to evaluate new technologies, participate in POCs, and contribute to security projects from planning through implementation
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small, fast-moving, collaborative team

Nice to Have:

• AI security, generative AI security, AI governance, or LLM-related security experience
• DLP or Microsoft Purview experience
• KnowBe4 or other security awareness platforms
• ISO 27001 or other security compliance framework experience
• Entra ID, Intune, IAM, or cloud security experience
• PowerShell or Python scripting
• Previous Help Desk, Systems Administration, or Infrastructure experience
