Job description

Overview

The Information Security Architect builds solutions to ensure the security of the organization's infrastructure and information assets. This position protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction while supporting control objectives to meet regulatory and contractual requirements. The role supports security and business initiatives by designing, installing, and maintaining security systems for hybrid on-premises, SaaS, and cloud computing and data storage systems. Responsibilities include assessing and testing existing security systems, updating security controls, and maintaining high security standards. The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $190,000, based on experience, plus an annual bonus. The role is 100% remote.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement security architecture for hybrid on-premises, SaaS, and cloud infrastructure, microservices, and data applications in collaboration with IT and development teams.
  • Establish strategic security architecture directions, including standards and frameworks such as NIST, aligned with business strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy requirements and relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in architecture governance processes for information security and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Drive architecture and business innovation through strategic thinking.
  • Communicate analyses and results effectively, persuading stakeholders with logical arguments and data.
  • Maintain technical expertise in AWS/Azure cloud services, cloud-native design, microservice architecture, containerization, and non-functional requirements.
  • Create and maintain architectural diagrams.
  • Assist with information security audits and third-party reviews as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry security trends and current threat profiles.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Security Architect.
  • Strong research and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments, such as Financial Services.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Structured approach to managing responsibilities.
  • Broad understanding of current security technologies and industry trends.
  • Quick learner, adaptable, customer-focused, team player, with a commitment to follow-through.
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certification, CISSP, CCSP, or others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Location & Compensation
  • The base salary ranges from $130,000 to $190,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
  • Benefits include paid time off, medical, dental, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k), and other fringe benefits, subject to eligibility.
  • The role can be fully remote, depending on geographic location.
