Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Information Security Architect to define, develop, and maintain secure enterprise architectures that align with business objectives.

You will lead cross-functional teams to ensure secure solution design, implement standardized controls, and promote secure coding practices across the organization. The role requires 7–8+ years in information security or architecture, with strong knowledge of enterprise security frameworks and the ability to influence across teams and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, information systems, or related discipline.
  • 7–8+ years of information security and/or architecture experience across multiple IT domains (applications, infrastructure, cloud, networking).
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise security architecture principles, frameworks, and patterns (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA).

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, and maintain security reference architectures, patterns, and standards.
  • Provide secure design guidance to product, DevOps, and development teams.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and threat modeling for high-risk implementations.
  • Collaborate to drive adoption of secure design patterns and best practices.
  • Translate business requirements into secure technical solutions.
  • Promote ownership and accountability for secure design and architecture standards.

This role is responsible for defining and promoting security architecture standards, enabling secure design patterns, and ensuring consistent application of security controls across the enterprise. This role serves as a key technical leader—driving secure solution design, influencing cross-functional teams, and advancing the organization’s security posture through scalable and standardized architectural practices.What You Will be Doing:Define, develop, and maintain security reference architectures, patterns, and standards to enable consistent and secure solution delivery across the enterpriseProvide secure design guidance and consultation to product teams, DevOps, Infrastructure & Operations, and application development teamsEnsure solutions align with security architecture standards, secure coding practices, and enterprise controlsConduct architecture and design reviews, including threat modeling for complex or high-risk implementationsContribute to and help execute the enterprise security architecture strategy and roadmap, aligning to business and IT objectivesDevelop and operationalize architecture policies, standards, procedures, and templatesPartner with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) to ensure controls are integrated into architectural designsEvaluate emerging technologies and trends to improve security capabilities and support business outcomesCollaborate across teams to drive adoption of secure design patterns and security best practicesInfluence architecture decisions by translating business requirements into secure technical solutionsCommunicate security architecture concepts effectively to technical teams, business partners, and leadership stakeholdersSupport vendor evaluations to ensure alignment with security architecture standards and strategyAnalyze effectiveness of architectural decisions and drive continuous improvement of security practicesContribute to architecture documentation, including roadmaps, standards, and design artifactsPromote a culture of ownership and accountability for secure design and architecture standardsSupport integration of security architecture into Agile and DevOps delivery modelsWhat You'll Bring With You:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems or related discipline7–8+ years of experience in information security and/or architecture, including experience across multiple IT domains (e.g., applications, infrastructure, cloud, networking)Strong knowledge of enterprise security architecture principles, frameworks, and patterns (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA, or similar)Experience designing and supporting solutions across multiple technology domains and diverse enterprise environmentsProven ability to design secure, scalable, and resilient solutions and integrate security controls into architectureStrong understanding of security controls, risk management, and compliance integrationAbility to translate business needs into technical architecture solutions and align decisions to business outcomesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills, with the ability to evaluate multiple solution optionsAbility to analyze emerging technologies, trends, and disruptions and assess their impact on business and security strategyExcellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiencesDemonstrated ability to influence without authority, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and navigate organizational dynamicsStrong business acumen, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to balance strategic objectives and delivery executionWe are committed to offering competitive pay that reflects market standards and ensures consistency within our organization.The pay range for this position is listed below.$120,750.00 - $191,000.00This pay range represents the minimum and maximum base pay for the position, which is determined by factors such as market data, the qualifications required, the level of responsibilities associated with the role and other roles at this same level.
