Job summary

City of Maypearl seeks an Information Security Analyst to monitor security protocols protecting our networks and information assets. You will ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability in line with policy, regulations, and industry standards.

Responsibilities include planning enterprise security strategies, implementing controls, and training staff on best practices. You will lead incident response and collaborate with staff, vendors, and external technologists to mitigate threats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field and 3 years of professional Information Systems or Information Security experience.
• One or more certifications such as CED, CEH, GSEC, GIAC, Security+, CCENT, CCNA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and maintenance of enterprise-wide information security policies and systems.
• Plan, implement and maintain security controls to protect information systems and data.
• Train users and staff on information security standards and best practices.
• Manage firewalls, encryption and other tools to protect transfers of confidential data.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits and tests including network scans and penetration testing.
• Lead incident response to security breaches, perform investigations and recommend changes.
• Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats and mitigate them.
• Monitor security and privacy compliance with policy, laws and standards.
