The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, TX seeks an Information Security Analyst to assist with implementing and monitoring access controls, data confidentiality, system integrity, and recovery procedures across university IT resources.

Responsible for assisting with the development, implementation,monitoring and support of digital access control, dataconfidentiality, systemintegrity, system reliability, systemaudit, recovery methods and procedures. Ensures the university isin compliance with UT System policies as well as state and federalstatutes and regulations.
General supervision from assigned supervisor.
May supervise assigned staff.
Bachelor's degree in information security, information technology,computer sciences, or closely related field from an accrediteduniversity.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,Information Assurance, or related field from an accrediteduniversity.
Preferred: GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), orCertified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Security+, or similarcertification.
Experience in configuring, deploying, or monitoring securityinfrastructure or tools. Knowledge of standard concepts, practices,and procedures for security operation centers.
Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and applicablesoftware necessary to perform work assignments e.g. wordprocessing, spreadsheets (Microsoft Office preferred). Use ofstandard office equipment.
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties.Office environment; some travel and weekend work is required. UTRGVis a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiplelocations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve. Ability tofunction independently and as a team player in a fast-pacedenvironment. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintaincollaborative working relationships with varying constituencies andteams. Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Knowledge ofsecurity best practice standards such as the Center for InternetSecurity (CIS) Top 20 Critical Security Controls, NISTCybersecurity Framework and OWASP.
