Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as IG point of contact for software/hardware used by IG including implementation, training, troubleshooting, testing and data quality.
  • Coordinate with staff to acquire/release information to/from DMS and records systems while ensuring compliance with guidelines.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining DMS workspace structures and templates; document procedures and conduct data quality improvements.
  • Prepare reports/metrics to communicate operational effectiveness of the IG program.

Description

Summary

This position will serve as an Information Governance point of contact for software and hardware utilized by Information Governance including implementing, training, trouble shooting, version testing, and data quality. Performs complex analytical or interpretive tasks to support compliance and audits. Applies specialized technical skills as an independent worker under minimal supervision. Responsibilities may include direct contact with staff to coordinate the acquisition or release of information to / from firm's document management system, records management systems, network shares to ensure compliance with outside counsel guidelines or complex data conversions; recommending procedural changes when needed for software versioning; documenting software development and procedures; conducting electronic searches / audits; assisting with creation / modification of DMS workspaces; maintaining template references noting class / sub-classifications.

This position reports to the IG Development Support Supervisor.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent in work experience) including specialized courses in records management, business law, or computer technology.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in information management relating to electronic data in document management, network shares and records management systems such as iManage, PostMark, PaperStream Capture, 3E Records.
  • Knowledge of management principles, techniques, theories and practices.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Law Firm experience preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Works with administrative staff and attorneys to identify business requirements to automate processes in IG systems
  • Coordinates with Information Services activities relating to systems / hardware needed for the IG teams
  • Supports the Supervisor in testing, troubleshooting, training requests related to software / hardware used by IG teams
  • Improve quality of data held in IG systems
  • Communicate directly with attorneys and staff as needed to fulfill support for IG systems and data transfers or integrity as assigned
  • Assist in the development / maintenance of DMS workspace structures. Maintain template reference with classifications
  • Aids in the development of IG training and awareness materials
  • Prepares periodic reports and metrics as needed to convey the operational effectiveness of the IG Program
  • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
