Job summary

LINK is actively seeking an Information Designer to join our team in the Washington, DC area. You will translate concepts into visual products, including prototypes, wireframes, infographics, charts, and diagrams, for print and digital formats, to effectively convey complex ideas.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field and 5–10 years of experience in graphic design, information design, and visual storytelling, plus ability to obtain and maintain a security

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Visual Journalism, Animation, Information Design, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in graphic design, information design, visual communication, or related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Strong expertise in information design, visual storytelling, and communicating complex information through visual means.
  • Proficiency across information design, graphic design, brand development, and experience design.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with cross-functional teams to understand client challenges and communication objectives.
  • Applies human-centered design to develop visual solutions aligned with audience needs, priorities, and business goals.
  • Translates data, research findings, and complex concepts into clear visual formats.
  • Develops information hierarchies and visual frameworks to improve usability and navigation.
  • Guides visual approaches to help stakeholders understand complex systems and initiatives.
  • Independently manages design workstreams while balancing quality and deadlines.
  • Develops high-quality visual products including infographics, dashboards, charts, diagrams, and prototypes.
  • Creates vector illustrations, iconography, and supporting graphic assets for visual storytelling.
  • Reviews visuals for accessibility and 508 compliance, applying inclusive design principles.
  • Develops reusable templates and design systems for consistency across engagements.
  • Applies advanced visual communication to improve clarity and audience engagement.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to tailor solutions to client objectives.
  • Facilitates design discussions and reviews to strengthen outcomes.
  • Uses visual prototyping to explore concepts and align stakeholders.
  • Synthesizes feedback into actionable design improvements.
  • Balances multiple priorities while maintaining high quality.
