LINK is a fast-growing Woman Owned Small Business that utilizes human-centered design to support strategy, innovation, and branding within the federal government and adjacent industry partners. As an Information Designer, you will translate concepts into compelling visual products, including prototypes, wireframes, infographics, charts, and diagrams for print and digital formats.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Visual Journalism, Animation, Information Design, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in graphic design, information design, visual communication, or a related field.
  • Active Secret Clearance required
  • Strong expertise in information design, visual storytelling, and communicating complex information through visual means.
  • Well-versed in a variety of design disciplines (e.g., information design, graphic design, brand development, experience design) and able to select the appropriate approach for a given challenge.
  • Strong understanding of information hierarchy, visual communication principles, accessibility considerations, and human-centered design methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and craft.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively within collaborative team environments.
  • Approaches work with optimism, openness to new ideas, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Portfolio that demonstrates conceptual skills and design execution.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with cross-functional teams to understand client challenges and communication objectives.
  • Applies human-centered design principles to develop visual solutions that align audience needs, stakeholder priorities, and business objectives.
  • Translates data, research findings, and complex concepts into clear visual formats that communicate insights and recommendations.
  • Develops information hierarchies, visual frameworks, and communication structures that improve comprehension and usability.
  • Guides visual approaches to help stakeholders understand complex systems and strategic initiatives.
  • Independently manages design workstreams while balancing quality, deadlines, and client expectations.
  • Develops high-quality visual products including infographics, dashboards, charts, diagrams, presentations, wireframes, prototypes, and decision-support materials.
  • Creates vector illustrations, iconography, visual frameworks, and supporting assets that communicate complex concepts.
  • Translates technical and abstract content into compelling visual narratives that support understanding and decision-making.
  • Reviews visual products for accessibility and 508 compliance considerations and incorporates inclusive design principles.
  • Develops reusable templates, visual standards, and design systems for consistency across engagements.

Opportunity

LINK is actively seeking an Information Designer to join our team, where we collaborate with clients across a wide range of industries to create impactful visual stories that communicate complex ideas. You will translate concepts into compelling visual products, including prototypes, wireframes, infographics, charts, and diagrams, to convey quantitative data and abstract ideas in print and digital formats. This role applies human-centered design and design thinking principles to solve complex challenges and deliver visually engaging solutions, working with internal teams and clients to understand needs, develop intuitive information hierarchies, and create designs that support goals.

Work Schedule
  • Full time, 40 hours per week
  • Some travel required for events and LINK team activities
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary range: $71,000 – $97,000; final offer based on experience and location.
  • $100 monthly internet/cell phone stipend
  • LINK-sponsored healthcare benefits including medical, dental, and vision
