Job summary

HDR, Inc. invites enrolled engineering students to join our ICT/Security Internship in Omaha, Nebraska. You’ll gain real-world experience applying BIM to design telecommunications networks, electronic security, and audiovisual systems while mentored by senior engineers.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Electrical or Network Engineering with a 3.0+ GPA, familiar with Revit/Autodesk and Microsoft Office, and eager to contribute to a dynamic, employee-owned culture in a full-time temporary role.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.
• Experience with Revit or Autodesk software suites.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on exciting projects by applying standard engineering techniques and procedures to work with BIM programs to design telecommunications networks (wired and wireless), ESS and AV systems.
• Work under the guidance of senior-level engineers and BIM managers to assist them in researching and designing security systems, IP networking and access control systems.
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals' programs
• Perform other duties as needed

In the role of an ICT and Security Intern, we'll count on you to:

• Gain real-world experience on exciting projects by applying standard engineering techniques and procedures to work with Building Information Modeling (BIM) programs to design telecommunications networks (wired and wireless), Electronic Security Systems (ESS - including video and access control), and Audio Visual (AV) systems.
• Work under the guidance of senior-level engineers and BIM managers to assist them in researching and designing security systems, audio/visuals systems, IP networking, video management and access control systems.
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals' programs
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Prefer candidates pursuing a degree in Electrical or Network Engineering
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Experience with Revit or Autodesk software suites
• Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite
• Preference given to local candidates.
