Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Information Assurance Engineer to support the PEO IWS 5B program in the United States. You will work with the ISSM and security team to enforce NIST 800-53 controls and maintain the integrity of critical information systems, performing security assessments and supporting the authorization process within eMASS.

You will conduct risk assessments, support A&A and ATO activities, perform weekly audits, and maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, and assessment reports.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field; 4+ years of related experience.
• Minimum 4 years of cybersecurity or information assurance experience.
• IAT II certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+) for DoD 8140 compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Support security authorization activities, including Assessment & Authorization (A&A) and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
• Conduct weekly audits and maintain security documentation (SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs).
• Monitor and maintain security controls through continuous monitoring practices.
• Operate and manage security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
• Respond to security incidents and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Conduct compliance audits and reviews to ensure adherence to security policies.
• Stay informed on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
