Job summary

Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving DoD customers, seeks an Information Assurance Analyst Intern to join the Information Systems Security Engineering team in evaluating the information security of Naval software systems. You will assist in RMF A&A services and conduct cybersecurity risk assessments.

You will work with engineers to remediate vulnerabilities, implement DoD/NIST policies, and update system security plans and risk assessments throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• DoD 8140/8570 certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Knowledge of RMF, NIST guidance, and security engineering.
• Experience with networks, operating systems, databases, and virtual computing.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis to design, implement, test and field secure systems and architectures.
• Evaluate information systems security policies to ensure lifecycle requirements are met.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and policy creation/modification using ACAS Security Center.
• Collaborate with engineers to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
• Conduct RMF and NIST-based certification and testing.
• Notify PORs, developers and SMEs of CYBERCOM IAV announcements.
• Apply DoD, DoN, CNSS, and NIST policies, instructions and requirements.
• Update technical publications and risk assessments and SOPs.

Atlas Tech is seeking an Information Assurance Analyst Intern to join the Information Systems Security Engineering team to perform analysis and evaluation of the Information Security of Naval software systems. The analyst will be responsible for assisting in the technical implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) services by conducting cybersecurity and risk assessments on systems to identify and mitigate technical and non-technical vulnerabilities.

You Will:

• Perform analysis and evaluation to design, implement, test and field secure systems, networks, and architectures
• Evaluate information systems security policies ensuring system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the acquisition and Information System (IS) lifecycle
• Conduct vulnerability scans, reports, asset creation/modification, and policy creation/modification using ACAS Security Center
• Collaborate with engineers to remediate identified vulnerabilities or develop mitigations
• Conduct certification and testing in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) policy
• Notify PORs, developers and Subject Matter Experts of CYBERCOM IAV announcements
• Implement and apply DoD, DoN, CNSS, and NIST policy, instruction, and requirements
• Update technical publications such as Technical Plans, Analyses and Reports, Risk Assessments, Cybersecurity Strategy, Test Plans, procedures and reports, System Security Plans, checklist, Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and related documentation

You Have:

• U.S. Citizenship
• A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or be able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to hire date
• DoD 8140\8570 Certifications to be qualified as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II, e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Knowledge of security engineering, design concepts, and principles
• Experience with modern networks, operating systems, databases, and virtual computing
• Maintain Cybersecurity awareness throughout development
• Experience Identifying and resolving issues encountered during testing

We’d be Impressed if You Had:

• Experience with general networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSPF, etc.)
• Experience with Agile and Scrum
• Industry Certifications
