  • Own the SharePoint managed metadata term store and the firm's deal taxonomy, and maintain the RefinableString managed property mappings that make it searchable.

  • Apply intelligent document processing at ingestion (OCR, extraction, form recognition) so metadata and content signals are set at creation.
  • Define and maintain metadata standards and content type architecture, and drive tagging consistency across sites.
  • Remediate legacy libraries at scale using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and migration tooling to bulk-tag, reclassify, and clean existing content.

  • Build automated workflows and API-based integrations using Power Automate and the Microsoft Graph API to route, tag, and organize content across the deal lifecycle.
  • Manage content lifecycle within SharePoint, including archival and disposition, in line with retention outcomes defined by Information Security and Microsoft Purview.
  • Partner with Information Security to ensure lifecycle automation applies the sensitivity labels and retention policies those teams define.
Data Quality and Reporting
  • Develop reporting on metadata completeness, classification coverage, and content health across the SharePoint environment.
  • Establish operational metrics that communicate content health and classification accuracy to management.
  • Maintain documentation, standards, and procedures for architecture, taxonomy, classification, and lifecycle services.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7+ years of experience in SharePoint architecture, information architecture, or content management.
  • Expert-level experience with SharePoint Online information architecture (site structure, content types, column schemas, library design).
  • Expert-level experience with SharePoint managed metadata, term store administration, and RefinableString managed property mappings.
  • Strong experience configuring and tuning SharePoint search (verticals, refiners, query rules, PnP search).
  • Strong experience designing and operating document content classification, including path-, filename-, and classifier-based approaches with SharePoint Premium.
  • Hands-on experience building automated workflows and API-based integrations with Power Automate and the Microsoft Graph API.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting for bulk metadata, provisioning, and content remediation at scale.
  • Working knowledge of SPFx, CSOM, and REST/OData for SharePoint development and data access.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with data, IT, and security teams while remaining hands-on technically, and to operate with a high degree of autonomy as the firm's sole SME in this domain.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES
  • Experience leading a large-scale SharePoint migration or re-architecture using ShareGate, Metalogix, or comparable tooling.
  • Experience preparing SharePoint content for enterprise search or GenAI retrieval (semantic index / RAG readiness, Copilot enablement).
