Job summary

Cibola General Hospital seeks an Informatics Training Specialist to educate and support staff on EHR systems and other clinical applications. You will develop training programs and onboarding for physicians, nurses, and clinic staff, improving workflow efficiency and user proficiency.

You will collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teams to implement new technologies, troubleshoot issues with Oracle Health/Cerner, and drive regulatory compliance through education and competency

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a healthcare, information technology, education, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Information Systems, Education, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs for clinical systems and EHR applications.
  • Provide onboarding and orientation training for new physicians, nursing staff, clinic staff, and other employees.
  • Offer ongoing education and support to end users to promote system proficiency and workflow efficiency.
  • Assist departments in identifying, evaluating, and improving clinical workflows.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teams to support the adoption of new technologies.
  • Partner with Oracle and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot system issues and optimize system performance.
  • Manage and resolve tickets related to clinical applications and user support.
  • Support regulatory compliance initiatives through documentation, training, and competency validation.
  • Participate in project planning, implementation, and change management activities.
  • Develop reports and tools that support clinical and operational decision-making.

Cibola General Hospital provides services in general surgery, 24-hour Emergency care, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Pathology, Podiatry, Primary Care and Radiology with X-ray, CT, MRI. We have three operating rooms including a room for scopes. Outpatient Behavioral Health Services, Clinics, Lab services, Pharmacy, Cardiopulmonary, and Rehab.

Certification Training Program

Employee Referral Plan

CGH rewards up to $2,000 to employees of the hospital and clinic who identify and refer potential applicants who are hired into approved positions. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Informatics Training Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the organization's clinical technology initiatives by providing education, training, and ongoing support for electronic health record (EHR) systems and other clinical applications. This position helps drive workflow consistency, user adoption, and organizational change by ensuring employees can effectively utilize technology to deliver high-quality patient care.

As healthcare continues to evolve through increased reliance on technology and AI-enabled tools, the Informatics Training Specialist serves as a key resource for staff education, competency development, and system optimization across the organization.

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs for clinical systems and EHR applications.

Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a healthcare, information technology, education, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train individuals and groups with varying levels of technical proficiency.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Information Systems, Education, or related field.
  • Experience with Oracle Health/Cerner or comparable EHR platforms.
  • Experience developing educational materials and training programs.
  • Clinical informatics, healthcare technology, or project management experience.
  • Experience supporting system implementation and adoption initiatives.
