Job summary

Arlington Heights Memorial Library seeks an enthusiastic Info Services Assistant who loves books, music, and movies. You will help customers in person and online, making recommendations and guiding information needs across ages and cultures.

In this role you will facilitate book discussions, curate displays, write staff reviews and develop reading lists while maintaining online resources. Schedule is 23 hours weekly, including some weekends and evenings.

Do you love talking about the latest best-seller books? Do you like tracking down information? Are you someone who enjoys approaching customers of all ages and cultures and connecting them with their information needs and interests?

Our Info Services team has an opportunity for an avid reader, with a broad knowledge of books, music, and movies, to make recommendations for library customers. This position involves extensive interaction with the public, to provide customers access to the full range of library services via in-person, online chat, and other modes of delivery.

Additionaladvisor responsibilitiesincludefacilitating book discussions, writing staff reviews, curating displays, developing reading lists and maintaining online resources.

Requirements & Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Hours and Scheduling: 23 hours per week; schedule includes mornings, afternoons, evenings and every 4th weekend.
