Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare invites a Board Certified Infectious Diseases physician to join our rapidly expanding practice in Macon, GA, providing inpatient ID consults at two hospitals and outpatient clinic coverage.

The ideal candidate will be collaborative, clinically strong, and an excellent educator with interest in program development, OPAT, outpatient wound care, and teaching residents; a Mercer School of Medicine faculty appointment may be available.

Qualifications

• Board-certified ID physician required.
• Inpatient rounding with ID consults and follow-ups.
• Outpatient clinic follow-up and new consults.
• Clinical Faculty appointment available at Mercer School of Medicine.
• Participation in Antibiotic and Diagnostic Stewardship programs.
• Collaboration with wound care team for debridement and NPWT supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Infectious Diseases consultations and rounding.
• Manage outpatient follow-ups and new consults at the clinic.
• Supervise residents on service and participate in teaching.
• Engage in stewardship programs with Pharmacy, Microbiology and Infection Prevention.
• Collaborate with WOCN team for wound care and NPWT supervision.
