Job description

Overview

The successful candidate will join two physicians and 1 NP, along with clinical and clerical staff to support the community of Northwest Ohio. The clinical services include both outpatient clinic services and unrestricted call coverage services. This team provides services at Nationwide Children’s Hospital- Toledo and for our partners at The University of Toledo and Promedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital. The position includes responsibility for teaching residents as well as medical students. There are multiple opportunities for growth to lead committees in different areas of interest and to virtually attend Pediatric Ground Rounds with physicians on Nationwide Children’s main campus in Columbus, OH. Qualified applicants should be board certified in Pediatrics, and board eligible in Infectious Diseases.

Job Description Summary

Provides medical care and treatment to patients.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols.
  • Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required.
  • Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.
Education Requirements

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine equivalent, required. Graduate of an approved Fellowship program if applicable, required.

Licensure Requirements

Medical License in the State of Ohio, required. Unrestricted licensed physician, required.

Certifications

Board Certification or eligibility in Pediatrics, required.

Experience

Prior clinical practice experience may be required based on the needs of the division.
