NHS Jobs is seeking a Consultant in Infectious Diseases & Microbiology to lead and integrate clinical and laboratory aspects of infection diagnosis and management. The role includes medical reporting, interpreting results, and advising on patient care within the Trust and its collaboration with Airedale & Harrogate Trusts.

The post involves advisory clinical support to colleagues, ward reviews of complex infections, antimicrobial stewardship leadership, involvement in IPC and infection control

Qualifications

• Experience in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology.
• Experience in antimicrobial stewardship and guidelines development.
• Leadership in infection prevention and control.
• Experience with clinical and laboratory integration.

Responsabilités

• Plan future provision of Infection Service in collaboration with Airedale & Harrogate Trusts.
• Provide advisory and clinical consultative service to clinical colleagues in the Trust, including ward reviews of complex infection inpatients.
• Supervise processing of requests and reporting of results in the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory Service.
• Lead antimicrobial guidelines, carbapenem-sparing strategies, and lab testing for resistance.
