Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.
• Fellowship training in Infectious Disease preferred.
• Active and unrestricted New York State medical license required.
• DEA registration is needed.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Infectious Disease.

Responsibilities

• Provide infectious disease consultations for SNF/LTC residents.
• Diagnose and manage complex infections including pneumonia and UTIs.
• Direct antimicrobial therapy including IV and oral regimens.
• Order, interpret, and act upon cultures, labs, and imaging.
• Lead and support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
• Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and staff.
• Advise on infection prevention and isolation.
• Ensure accurate EMR documentation.
