located in beautiful Fayetteville, Arkansas, is seeking a full-time Medical Director of the Antibiotic Stewardship program. The Medical Director will be responsible for leading the antibiotic stewardship team, reviewing and analyzing all inpatients receiving antibiotics, and reviewing inpatient clinical culture results, including respiratory infections, wound infections, sepsis, bacteremia, urinary tract infections, and intraabdominal infections. The successful candidate will collaborate directly with primary providers and consultants regarding safe and effective antibiotic treatment, and work with other medical professionals to implement infection control policies and procedures.
Qualifications:- Seeking an initiative-taking and experienced physician with a strong background in infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathy degree required, with appropriate board certification and qualifications.
- Minimum of three years' experience in an acute care setting.

- Must be an Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) member or apply for membership after employment.
Responsibilities:- Provide strategic leadership for infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship programs, ensuring quality and safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to influence policy and practice, and reduce healthcare-associated infections.
- Work with hospital leadership to identify and resolve antimicrobial barriers to hospitalization and discharge.
- Ensure compliance with CMS conditions, The Joint Commission standards, CDC Core Measures, and maintain IDSA Centers of Excellence designation.
- Develop and implement infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship strategies.
- Monitor data related to healthcare-associated infections and antibiotic use, and develop targeted interventions.
- Create policies and protocols aligned with national guidelines and best practices.
- Serve as subject matter expert, providing guidance and education to healthcare staff.
- Lead antimicrobial stewardship and infection control committees, review antibiograms, monitor antibiotic durations, and track relevant infection ratios.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
- Mentor healthcare professionals and trainees on infection prevention and stewardship principles, including didactic instruction.
- Ensure timely reporting of infection rates and antimicrobial use.
- Participate in ICU rounds for stewardship and infection prevention advice.
