Charleston Area Medical Center, located in Charleston, WV, is recruiting an additional BC/BE Infectious Disease physician to join a largely inpatient Hospital ID practice consisting of 6 full-time and 2 part-time physicians, along with 3 supporting NPs.
The practice features a shared weekday call schedule with a 1 in 6+ weekend/holiday call rotation. The team collaborates with excellent hospitalist colleagues, with minimal after-hours ID input required.
Our medical community offers comprehensive specialty and subspecialty representation. The patient mix is stimulating, drawn from a primary referral area of 350,000 residents. The hospital is a Level 1 trauma center with over 100 ICU beds, handling complex referrals from busy oncology, interventional cardiovascular, renal transplantation, neurosurgery/spine, plastics/reconstructive, urology, and GI services.
Outpatient clinics include HIV, HCV, OPAT, and office-based ID. Our regional medical center boasts state-of-the-art microbiology, telemedicine, and information systems.
Active involvement in clinical research, teaching, and quality improvement activities is integral to our group culture. Opportunities include HIV care and Ryan White Clinic, Antibiotic Stewardship, Epidemiology, and Telemedicine support. Regular ID section luncheons and university conferences provide continuous educational stimulation. We support 225 residents and fellows across various specialties, including cardiology, gastroenterology, emergency medicine, pulmonary/critical care, neurology, vascular, and urology. Our team includes two ID/PharmD specialists, and microbiology/virology labs are state-of-the-art. Administrative support is excellent.
Compensation includes a guaranteed salary of $325,950, with a comprehensive benefits package:
Charleston Area Medical Center is a nonprofit, 1,103-bed regional referral center comprising six hospitals, including CAMC General, Greenbrier Valley, Memorial, Plateau, Teays Valley, and Women and Children’s Hospitals, along with the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine and Foundation.
