Job summary

The RN Clinical Nurse Educator in the Infectious Disease Clinic at University Medical Center is responsible for assessing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating unit-based clinical education programs for nursing and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
• BSN or healthcare-related degree required.
• Current RN licensure in Louisiana and BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the coordination, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs for clinical staff in the Infectious Disease Clinic.
• Serve as a resource for nurses, nursing students, and healthcare personnel in the acquisition of clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and professional competencies.
• Collaborate with the Department of Nursing Education & Professional Development and clinic leadership to support staff development and patient safety initiatives.
• Coordinate and facilitate onboarding, orientation, in-service education, and continuing education programs.
• Assess learning needs and develop educational strategies to enhance staff performance and clinical competency.
