UnityPoint Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Infectious Disease Specialty Clinic at Methodist Downtown. This full-time role supports patients with complex infections, coordinates care, and collaborates with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

Training offered for newer nurses in a growing clinic. Responsibilities include triage, care coordination for bacteremia, HIV, hepatitis, and other infections; patient education on therapies and home

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Iowa (in good standing).
• All levels of nursing experience will be considered; infectious disease or specialty care a plus but not required.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients via triage and phone assessments for infections and care urgency.
• Coordinate care for patients with acute/chronic infectious conditions and arrange outpatient therapies.
• Educate patients and families on infectious diseases, treatments, and home care strategies.
• Document assessments and care plans accurately in the EHR and track outcomes.
