Senior Infection Preventionist:

The Senior Infection Preventionist acts as a resource and consultant to all clinical, support and management services and medical staff regarding infection prevention and control. Applies epidemiologic principals and statistical methods, including risk stratification, identifies target populations, analyzes trends and risk factors and designs and evaluates the effectiveness of the infection prevention program and approaches. Demonstrates knowledge of principles related to infection prevention and control including microbiology, epidemiology, standards and technology of patient care, infectious diseases, sterilization, sanitation and disinfection practices and adult education principles.Requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing, medical lab technology or related, two years infection control experience and CIC.

Infection Prevention Surveillance Specialist:

This is a remote position in Arizona with cross-training, hospital-based work, in-person backup support to hospital-based teams if need arises.Must reside in the greater metro area of Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, or Northwest Valley - Arizona.

The Infection Prevention - Surveillance Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and surgical site infections (SSIs), primarily using electronic medical records (EMRs) to identify infections in accordance with NHSN criteria. This role requires an in-depth understanding of infection surveillance protocols, and the specialist is expected to stay current with definition changes, ensure proper documentation, and provide timely and accurate infection data. The role also includes responsibilities for monthly reporting, education and training, communicable disease reporting, and supporting infectious disease exposures. Requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing, medical lab technology or related, five years experience in acute care and infection prevention and control w/surveillance responsibilities and CIC.
