Responsibilities

The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for the nursing center's Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP). The role functions as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator for staff across multiple locations, focusing on:

• Infection Prevention and Control Activities
• Outcome and Process Surveillance
• Outbreak Management
• Employee Health

Key duties include:

1. Supporting new hire orientation by providing infection prevention and control training for newly hired employees.
2. Creating and implementing education programs based on identified infection control needs from QAPI, rounding, quality measures, or other sources.
3. Developing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the IPCP to ensure high-quality patient care related to infection and communicable disease prevention within the nursing center.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure by the State Board of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of three years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet with employees on evening and night shifts.

Posted Salary Range

USD $85,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 per year
