Job summary

West Boca Medical Center is seeking an Infection Preventionist to identify, investigate, monitor, and report healthcare-associated infections within the hospital.

You will collaborate with teams to develop infection prevention strategies, enforce policies, and coordinate surveillance and control programs to sustain safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or related field.
• Master of Public Health is preferred.
• Minimum one year of infection prevention experience and RN experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, monitor, and report healthcare-associated infections.
• Serve as subject matter expert and collaborate to create infection prevention strategies.
• Coordinate infection prevention and control activities within the hospital.

Job Summary

Full Time, Days

The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare-associated infections. The IP serves as a subject matter expert, collaborating with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention requirements. The designated person will be given the authority to implement and enforce the Surveillance, Prevention and Control Program policies, coordinate all infection prevention and control within the hospital and facilitate ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of prevention and/or control activities and interventions.

Qualifications

Educational and Certification Requirements
Baccalaureate degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or related field. Masters of Public Health is preferred.

Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (i.e., CIC preferred) or, attainment within 2 years after employment required; and maintains Certification.

Required Experience:
Minimum one year of experience in Infection Prevention and minimum one year of RN experience in an acute care setting

License:

RN Licensure Required
