Job Summary

This position is an advanced level infection preventionist role. The ICP II performs complex project work with interdisciplinary groups including senior administrators, nursing, and medical staff, independently with minimal supervision. The ICP II leads program initiatives, utilizes surveillance with epidemiological principles, meets CDC/NHSN benchmarks, and liaises with CDC. Responsibilities include data analysis, reporting to committees, initiating RCA reports to address HAIs, leading infection control committees and chairing when required, guiding multidisciplinary teams, developing work plans, implementing training programs, and conducting site visits and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field (e.g., microbiology, public health) with knowledge of microbiology, infectious diseases and medical terminology; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Michigan (preferred).
• Five years of infection prevention and control experience in a healthcare setting (preferred: RN). Certification in infection control required.
• Membership in Michigan Society of Infection Prevention and Control and Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred.
