Job summary

AdventHealth Winter Garden is seeking a dedicated infection prevention professional to lead the IPC program, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance while advancing patient safety.

The role collaborates with internal teams and external partners, mentors staff, and oversees surveillance, quality improvement, and evidence-based practices. A CIC is preferred; RN may be preferred. Full-time day shift with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a clinical setting, infection control or public health.
• Hospital-based infection control experience required.
• CIC certification preferred; RN preferred.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Leverages technology for surveillance and reporting, ensuring data integrity and timely submission to applicable regulatory systems.
• Collaborates with internal teams and external partners including public health officials, healthcare coalitions, and vendors to enhance infection prevention outcomes.
• Advocates for evidence-based practices, maintaining adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participates in research and quality improvement initiatives, differentiating between QI and research, and disseminating results through education and consultation.
• Contributes to product evaluation and cost-effectiveness initiatives, supporting organizational goals through informed decision-making and business case development.
• Leads the implementation and continuous improvement of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program, aligning initiatives with organizational quality and safety goals.
• Monitors compliance with IPC standards and conducts surveillance using epidemiologic principles and statistical tools to detect disease trends, clusters, and outbreaks.

Field of Study:

• Health science, healthcare delivery, public health, laboratory science, or related field. Advanced degree/ internship could be considered in lieu of experience.

Work Experience:

• 2+ in clinical setting, infection control or public health. [Required]
• Hospital-based or Operating Room IP experience required

Licenses and Certifications:

• Infection Control Certification (CIC) [Preferred]
• Registered Nurse Preferred
