Job summary

AdventHealth Winter Garden is seeking an Infection Preventionist to lead the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program at the Winter Garden campus. You will monitor surveillance, collaborate with public health partners, and promote evidence-based practices to improve patient safety.

Requirements include 2+ years in infection control or public health and a preference for CIC certification and RN background; full-time daytime schedule with on-call rotation in a Florida hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in clinical infection control or public health.
  • Hospital-based infection prevention experience required.
  • Infection Control Certification (CIC) preferred.
  • Registered Nurse preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leverages technology for surveillance and reporting to regulatory systems.
  • Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to enhance infection prevention outcomes.
  • Advocates for evidence-based practices, maintaining adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in research and quality improvement initiatives, disseminating results through education and consultation.
  • Contributes to product evaluation and cost-effectiveness initiatives, supporting organizational goals through informed decision-making and business case development.
  • Leads the implementation and continuous improvement of the IPC program, aligning initiatives with quality and safety goals.
  • Monitors IPC standards and conducts surveillance using epidemiologic methods to detect disease trends, clusters, and outbreaks.

Job Description

Schedule: Full-Time

Shift: Monday to Friday, with on-call rotation.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Leverages technology for surveillance and reporting, ensuring data integrity and timely submission to applicable regulatory systems.
  • Collaborates with internal teams and external partners including public health officials, healthcare coalitions, and vendors to enhance infection prevention outcomes.
  • Advocates for evidence-based practices, maintaining adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in research and quality improvement initiatives, differentiating between QI and research, and disseminating results through education and consultation.
  • Contributes to product evaluation and cost-effectiveness initiatives, supporting organizational goals through informed decision-making and business case development.
  • Leads the implementation and continuous improvement of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program, aligning initiatives with organizational quality and safety goals.
  • Monitors compliance with IPC standards and conducts surveillance using epidemiologic principles and statistical tools to detect disease trends, clusters, and outbreaks.

Education

Field of Study
  • Health science, healthcare delivery, public health, laboratory science, or related field. Advanced degree/ internship could be considered in lieu of experience.
Work Experience
  • 2+ in clinical setting, infection control or public health. [Required]
  • Hospital-based or Operating Room IP experience required
Licenses and Certifications
  • Infection Control Certification (CIC) [Preferred]
  • Registered Nurse Preferred

Pay Range

$66,268.80 - $123,281.60
