UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA, seeks an Infectious Disease physician to serve as Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control. This is a leadership role with active clinical practice, collaborating with institutional leadership to advance patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The role includes an attending position in Infectious Diseases, with opportunities in general ID and/or Transplant ID, plus an academic appointment at UMass Chan Medical School.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Infectious Diseases.
• MD or DO degree and eligibility for Massachusetts medical licensure
• Demonstrated experience in Infection Prevention and Control, with the ability to contribute to program development and quality initiatives
• Clinical expertise or focused interest in general Infectious Diseases and/or Transplant Infectious Diseases
• Interest in clinical research, health equity initiatives, or advancing care for underserved populations

Responsibilities

• Provide physician leadership in the development, implementation, and oversight of Infection Prevention and Control programs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance system-wide initiatives in patient safety and quality improvement
• Support ongoing efforts that have established UMass Memorial Medical Center as a leader in infection prevention, including maintaining low rates of healthcare-associated infections
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient Infectious Disease clinical services
• Contribute to institutional education and training related to infection prevention practices
