Job summary

Majestic Care of Fort Wayne is seeking an Infection Prevention Staff Development Nurse (IPSD) to join our team and uphold our core values. The IPSD will coordinate infection control, staff development, and compliance training across the care team, including on-floor support during staffing needs.

Strong background in infection control and LTC is preferred. The role involves clinical orientation, documentation, data analysis, and collaboration with HR, DNS, and other leaders to meet regulatory

Qualifications

• RN or LPN license active and in good standing.
• CPR teaching certificate.
• Must lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds.
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric care preferred.
• At least two years nursing experience with infection control training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care team members receive compliance training and education.
• Document training per state, federal, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor performance and address compliance issues.
• Develop and conduct clinical orientation with HR Manager for new staff.
• Provide hands-on orientation and instruction to licensed/unlicensed staff.
• Coordinate new staff training and CPR training.
• Assess resident needs and design training programs accordingly.
• Work with DNS to ensure nursing staff competency.
• Support nursing care staff on the floor during staffing shortages.
• Collect, analyze, and report infection data and trends to staff and practitioners.
• Consult on infection risk assessment, prevention, and control strategies.
• Ensure infection control reports identify infection types and trends.
• Assist in department budget and control expenditures.
• Coordinate OSHA/Risk Management program documentation with HR Manager.
• Ensure educational curriculum meets requirements.
• Plan/state-mandated in-service programs.
• Coordinate Relias usage for onboarding/offboarding.
• Collaborate with HR Manager and Maintenance Director on annual OSHA trainings.
• Ensure PPE supply is adequate for staff.
