Job summary

Kindred Hospital Philadelphia - Havertown is seeking an Infection Control Nurse to lead hospital-wide infection prevention efforts, collaborating with physicians and staff to maintain CDC/JCAHO standards in a 66-bed LTAC setting. The role requires a Bachelor's in nursing, RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year in medical-surgical or critical care, with infection control experience.

Master’s degree preferred and a focus on surveillance, policy development, education, and health department

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing or healthcare field.
• Master's degree in clinical specialty preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.
• Current State RN license required.
• BLS Certification required.
• ICP or related certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in medical-surgical or critical care nursing.
• Infection control knowledge and epidemiology basics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and monitors infection control policies across departments.
• Implements a surveillance system for infections and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Provides physicians and staff with updates of infection control policy changes.
• Investigates outbreaks and analyzes data to guide control measures.
• Educates staff and patients on infection control practices.
• Participates in Infection Control Committees.
• Collaborates with local and state health departments on reporting of communicable diseases.
• Performs infection control audits and follow-up actions.
