Job summary

Hillcrest Healthcare in Tennessee is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead infection prevention and control efforts across the facility. You will collaborate with the DON, Medical Director and Infection Control Committee to monitor infections, report trends, and ensure compliance with policy.

The ideal candidate has an active state license, strong organizational and communication skills, and a compassionate approach to elderly residents.

Qualifications

Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse with current state license.
Organized and detail-oriented in work performance.
Good communication skills with patience and empathy.

Responsibilities

Inform DON, Medical Director and Infection Control Committee about infection prevention progress.
Advise isolation policy for disease-specific precautions.
Act as liaison with local health department for reporting infections.
Maintain communication with supervisors and nurses as the primary focal point for infection data.
Review infections monthly and quarterly.
Investigate unusual epidemics or clusters of infections.
Conduct facility rounds to verify techniques against Infection Control standards.
Train staff to complete Infection Surveillance Reports and supervise follow-up activities.
Assist with infection control programs and policy implementations.
Attend Infection Control/QA Committee meetings and implement recommendations.
Compile infection data and report to the Infection Control Committee.
May be assigned as Charge Nurse if needed.
