Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Laredo is seeking an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to support the program across the hospital. You will assist in program management, educate staff, and help maintain regulatory compliance while handling data for infection control.

The role requires an RN or LVN license with BLS, CIC certification (or within 3 years), and 2+ years in a hospital setting. Strong collaboration with physicians and departments is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a two (2) year Associate degree in Nursing or LVN.
• BLS certification required.
• Certified in Infection Control (CIC); must obtain CIC certification within 3 years from date of hire or transfer.
• Minimum of two (2) years of RN or LVN experience in a hospital setting is required.
• Computer skills to include typing skills and knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assists Manager in the management of all hospital activities related to the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
• Aggregates data for infection control reports.
• Coordinates the infection prevention and control program throughout the facility.
• Implements educational programs to provide staff with knowledge and skills regarding infection control practices.
