Job summary

The Nurse Consultant I position at the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is based at Central Prison Healthcare Complex in Raleigh. You will coordinate, implement, monitor, and evaluate the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program in a correctional hospital setting.

Responsibilities include infection-control education, surveillance of healthcare-associated infections, outbreak management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to maintain safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and RN licensure.
• Two years of professional nursing experience demonstrating knowledge of infection prevention or related clinical practice.
• Ability to interpret and apply healthcare policies and infection-prevention guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Infection Prevention Program Oversight and coordination within the facility.
• Monitor compliance with infection-prevention policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide education and consultation to staff and leadership; participate in multidisciplinary committees.
