Job summary

South Shore Rehabilitation is seeking an Infection Prevention Coordinator to lead infection prevention programs across the facility. You will develop goals, collaborate with physicians and leaders, and oversee epidemiology and safety programs to reduce infection transmission.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of regulatory guidelines, and the ability to respond effectively to infection control concerns, ensuring staff and residents are protected.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of nursing and medical procedures, including regulatory guidelines for nursing care facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plans.
• Collaborate with facility leaders, physicians, and local, state, and national agencies on infection prevention activities.
• Oversee the infection prevention, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, and safety programs.
• Participate in national collaboratives and external reporting to CDC NHSN and other quality organizations.
• Ensure intervention and education for staff, volunteers, and medical personnel when infection control breaches, outbreaks, or non-compliance issues arise.
