Job summary

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH in Orlando, FL is seeking an Epidemiologist III to lead epidemiologic investigations, surveillance, and interventions within the Epidemiology program in Orange County. The position focuses on Healthcare-Associated Infections and antimicrobial resistance, providing expert epidemiology support to healthcare facilities and public health partners.

The role requires a Master’s in Epidemiology or Public Health or equivalent experience, strong data analysis and reporting

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field; 4 years infectious disease investigations may substitute.
• Experience in acute infectious disease investigations in public health settings is preferred.
• Ability to coordinate surveillance and epidemiological investigations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct epidemiologic investigations, surveillance, and public health interventions for HAI/AR organisms.
• Provide infection prevention and control guidance to healthcare facilities.
• Coordinate laboratory support and outbreak investigations with regional teams.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Participate in on-call activities and emergency deployments as required.
