Job summary

Zebulon Rehabilitation Center, a 60-bed skilled nursing facility in Zebulon, NC, is seeking an Infection Control/Staff Development RN to join our caring team. This role focuses on orientation, ongoing staff training, and maintaining infection prevention programs in a warm, family-oriented environment.

Qualified candidates will hold NC RN licensure, have 2+ years of nursing experience, and be willing to complete CDC IPCO certification within 5 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience.
• Long-Term Care or SNF nursing experience preferred or clinical education experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide general and clinical orientation to new staff.
• Lead live annual training sessions and monthly refreshers.
• Track training attendance, competencies, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct hands-on skills fairs and competency evaluations.
• Lead the Mentor Program and support staff development.
• Oversee Infection Prevention and Infection Control program and educate staff.

Responsibilities of a Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Control RN:

• Provide general and clinical orientation to new staff members.
• Provide live annual training sessions monthly so you have time and opportunity to interact with the staff.
• Track training attendance, competencies, and state and federal requirements for all staff in Relias.
• Conduct hands on skills fairs.
• Perform and track competency evaluations.
• Lead our Mentor Program.
• Evaluate and educate individual needs of the staff at the center.
• Responsible for the administration of the center's Infection Prevention and Infection Control Program. You will identify, investigate, and report infections and communicable diseases and educate staff on the control and prevention of those infections.

Qualifications of a Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Control RN:

• Clear and active Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in the state of NC.
• Two (2+) years' nursing experience required.
• Long-Term Care or SNF Nursing experience OR Clinical Education and Staff Development experience strongly preferred.
• CDC - IPCO Certification required or must be willing to complete within 5 days of employment.
