Position OverviewThe Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire an Infection Prevention/Control Nurse. This position conducts complex random and targeted infection control related surveys to monitor hospitals compliance with Federal, State and Accreditation guidelines; reviews qualitative/quantitative infection control data, providing follow-up for problem areas identified; supports the Statewide Quality Control Nurse; assists in conducting surveys and reviewing policies and procedures to monitor conformance to Federal, State and Accreditation guidelines in such areas as patient safety, nursing, and treatment; and provides consultation and expertise to hospital staff, Department of Human Services (DHS) leadership and other stakeholders regarding such areas as infection control, psychiatric and medical services, nursing requirements and treatment services.
