Job summary

Southern HealthCare Management in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Infection Prevention Control Officer to lead the center's infection prevention program and ensure adherence to CDC, Joint Commission, and state regulations in a skilled nursing setting.

The role requires an active LPN license, 2+ years in infection prevention or healthcare, and willingness to obtain CDC IPCO certification within 5 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Active LPN licensure in the state of practice.
• Two or more years as an Infection Preventionist or related healthcare professional with knowledge of infection prevention and control, microbiology, infectious diseases, and epidemiology in patient care practices.
• CDC - IPCO Certification required or must be willing to complete within 5 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for administering the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation / sub-acute care nursing center.
• Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of acquired infections among residents, staff, and guests. You will manage COVID/Flu testing schedules and educate staff on CDC updates.
• Serve as the center's knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations related to infection prevention and control in skilled nursing facilities
