Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking an Infection Preventionist / Hospital Educator to lead infection control initiatives within our Wesley Chapel facility. You will spearhead surveillance, policy management, and education across clinical teams to uphold safety standards.

The role requires post-secondary health education and experience in infection prevention; CIC credential is preferred. This position offers growth opportunities and a community-focused environment near home.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Training in infection control and/or epidemiology.
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred.
• 1 year experience in a clinical setting in field of practice.

Responsibilities

• Direct the managerial functions of our Infection Control Program.
• Assure compliance with CMS, TJC, CDC, OSHA, and other federal and state standards and guidelines.
• Analyze hospital infection data to identify trends, clusters, risk factors and variances.
• Manage hospital policies consistent with applicable infection control guidelines and standards.
• Perform surveillance, analysis, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections.
• Assist in coordination of clinical rotations and student orientation packet completion.
• Train staff in new hire orientation (departmental) and assist in general hospital orientation.
• Assist with projects and audits.
• Assist with staff training in QI certification and other required training.
• Coordinate preceptor program.

Qualifications

• License or Certification:
• CPR certification required.
• Current license or certification applicable to health-related field.
• Education and Experience:
  • Completed post-secondary education in a health-related field including but not limited to medicine, nursing, laboratory technology, public health, or biology.
  • Previous experience as an Educator preferred.
• Training in infection control and/or epidemiology.
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred.
• 1 year experience in a clinical setting in field of practice.
• If Registered Nurse, CRRN certification preferred.
• Experience in hospital infection control practice preferred.
