Job summary

Parkside Villa in Middleburg Heights, OH is seeking an RN Infection Control Nurse to oversee the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program.

You will develop surveillance activities, educate staff on prevention practices, and ensure CMS/CDC compliance while maintaining survey readiness in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in good standing (state-specific)
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in long-term care or healthcare setting
• Knowledge of CMS regulations, CDC guidelines, and infection prevention standards
• Strong organizational, assessment, and communication skills
• Ability to analyze data and implement evidence-based practices

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program
• Conduct infection surveillance, tracking, investigation, and reporting of communicable diseases
• Ensure timely reporting to local and state health departments as required
• Monitor and educate staff on infection prevention practices, including hand hygiene, PPE, isolation precautions, and exposure management
• Review and update infection control policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory guidance
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, medical providers, and interdisciplinary teams to reduce infection risks
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
• Conduct audits related to infection control, environmental sanitation, and hand hygiene compliance
• Assist with outbreak management, containment, and documentation
• Educate residents and families on infection prevention as appropriate
• Support survey readiness and participate in regulatory surveys and plan-of-correction development
